This collection contains nineteen episodes from the hour-long Western series The Big Valley which aired on ABC from 1965 to 1969. The show told the story of Victoria Barkley (Barbara Stanwyck), the widowed matriarch of the Barkley family, who own a ranch in the San Joaquin Valley in California. Other family members include the sons Jarrod (Richard Long), Nick (Peter Breck), Heath (Lee Majors), Eugene (Charles Briles), and daughter Audra (Linda Evans). The show also usually included family servant Silas (Napoleon Whiting).
While a total of 112 episodes of The Big Valley aired over its four-season run, this collection contains only nineteen of the original episodes. However, this does include at least three episodes from each season, as well as “Point and Counterpoint,” the final episode.
