Wisconsin Federation of Women's Clubs. 8th District: Records, 1914-1972

Scope and Content Note

This collection provides an overview of the work and activities of the active Eighth District federation throughout its history. The administrative records, in particular, are comprehensive. The Minutes document meetings of the executive board and other administrative groups (1914-1952, 1961-1968), and annual conventions (1914-1952), and contain constitutions, by-laws, and reports (1914-1926). The president's Annual Reports include both reports to the state president concerning district activities, and reports to the district membership about state and district conventions. Advice and tips on presidential procedures and duties are contained in the President's Book. The Financial Records are composed of budgets, treasurer's reports, and a dues ledger. Individual club objectives, programs, and activities may be found in the Club and County Federation Constitutions and in club Yearbooks. A file of Publications contains district convention programs, district membership directories, and miscellaneous material. Press Scrapbooks, 1932-1968, on microfilm, document the activities of the organization on the local, county, district, and to some extent, state levels.
