Scope and Content Note: Records consisting of correspondence (1870-1899), mostly from Montreal River Lumber Company of Gile, Wisconsin, concerning financial and other business matters. Also included are two volumes: a contract journal (1881-1888) tracking purchases of land and listing dates, number of acres, titles, number of logs per mile, and brief descriptions of the purchase; and a land sales volume (1883-1905) recording the sales of land, mainly in the village of Hayward.
