Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of two reels of episodes from the syndicated animated cartoon series Abbott & Costello Cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series, which ran in half-hour blocks, with four, five-minute episodes per half-hour, was based on the live-action comedic due Abbott and Costello and featured the voice talents of Bud Abbott as himself and Stan Irwin as the voice of Lou Costello who died in 1959. Additional voices were provided by Mel Blanc, Don Messick, John Stephenson, and Janet Waldo.

While roughly 156 episodes of the Abbott and Costello cartoon series were produced, this collection contains eight, five minute, color episodes produced in 1967. Each reel has a running time of approximately thirty minutes. Episodes featured in this collection include: “Shoo-Shoes,” “Teensy vs. Weensys,” “Tragic Magic,” “Carnival of Menace,” “Luna Tricks,” “Booty Bounty,” “G.I. Jokers,” and “Tasmanian Terror.”
