Biography/History

Robert Alexander Winston was born in Washington, Indiana in 1907. He graduated from Indiana University in 1930. He completed his pilot training at Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida and received his first commission in 1939. In addition to his career in the military he was an author and reporter. He worked for several newspapers including the New York Times, contributed articles to publications and wrote five books. Winston passed away in 1974.
