International Club collection

Scope and Contents

This collection includes photographs, publications, correspondence, event programs, an album of national anthems from around the world, and a scrapbook documenting the activities of the International Club from 1909-1963. The photographs document the club's costume balls, tours, cultural dinners, dances, and guest speakers from 1933 to 1959. The scrapbook covers the club's history from 1929 until 1953, and includes newspaper clippings, event programs, photographs, and other ephemera. Events such as Latin American and Egyptian cultural dinners, costume balls, dances, and international speakers are well documented alongside general news about international students on campus and speakers from around the world. The album of national anthems was created by Pakistani student and Cultural Committee Chair Mirza A.A. Beg in honor of the 60th anniversary of the International Club. It includes national anthems of countries represented by the members of the club and a short essay by Beg.
