David Kingston Runyon was born in 1931 in New Jersey and died in 2001 at age 69. He was a
Madison, Wisconsin based activist, videographer, and retired University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater professor of Asian Studies. Runyon came out as a gay man while in his
40s, and is well known for producing the longest running LGBT cable television show, Nothing
to Hide, which aired on public access channel WYOU.
