This collection contains the original interview schedules for interviews which were carried
out by University of Wisconsin field-workers in 1978, 1989, and 1998. The forms contain both
structured segments to collect certain numerical and demographic data as well as more open
ended questions. The interviews were collected mostly in Spanish but some in English as well
and while concentrated mostly in the south central agricultural corridor of Wisconsin there
are interviews from all over the state. The interviews became the primary data source for a
number of publications by Doris P. Slesinger and others at the Department of Rural Sociology
at UW-Madison. The schedules were transferred to the UW-Archives in two batches, one in 1998
and the second in 2006.
