This collection contains three volumes from the City Pound. The first is a
chronological listing of cash receipts and cash disbursements. Each entry contains
only one line of information: name, date, case number, and amount. Case numbers
correspond to case numbers in the City Pound Driver's Record. The Driver’s Record is
a chronological listing of animals picked up. Information provided includes date and
case number, name and residence of person making arrest, description of animal,
where taken, days kept, name of person claimed by and redeemed, amount paid out, and
remarks. During archival processing, staff inferred an end date of 1894 from the
sequence of partially dated entries that follow the latest fully dated entry (August
1, 1893) in volume 3.
