Agnes Reinke was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her parents were immigrants
from Lithuania. She graduated from Milwaukee Girls Tech High School in 1937. Agnes
met Frank Zeidler (1912-2006) at a Socialist Party meeting and the couple married
soon after in 1939. They had six children together. Agnes was very active in her
children's lives and participated in various capacities, such as serving on the PTA
in their schools and as a Girl Scout leader. Agnes was also active in the Lutheran
Church as well as other community groups. During her husband's mayoral campaigns she
kept the books and made sure operations ran smoothly. She later worked for the
Census Bureau. Agnes died in 2009.
