The collection includes both the official mayoral records of Carl Zeidler, and some
materials from his time as an assistant city attorney. It is comprised of
correspondence, minutes, reports, photographs, articles, speeches, music, and other
secondary material. Most of the collection is from Zeidler's time as mayor,
1940-1942.
The collection is divided into two series. Series 1 is Zeidler’s mayoral office
files. The folder headings are those used in the Mayor’s office. It is primarily
comprised of correspondence with other City departments, citizens, and various
organizations. Much of the material centers around City business and World War II.
Series 2 consists of materials from Zeidler's time in the City Attorney's office. It
is largely comprised of correspondence and opinions on various City ordinances.
