Kenosha Campus Records, 1946-1984

Biography/History

The development of the Kenosha Center was largely the work of one man—Bernard C. Tallent, an instructor in Political Science and first Director of the Center (1948-1965). Tallent was a product of a Kentucky education and received master's degrees from both the University of Kentucky and the University of Wisconsin. As Director of the Kenosha Center, Tallent was involved in many civic activities.

Arthur N. Ogden, on the Kenosha faculty since 1962 teaching Physics, became Acting Dean upon Tallent's death, until replaced by the appointment of Stephen R. Mitchell (1967-1970).
