The Physics Department was combined with the Mathematics Department in 2013.
The Great White Wave Machine series records a combined effort of UW-Parkside and area companies, such a Johnson Wax and Snap-on Tools to create a traveling truck full of hands-on physics experiments that could travel to elementary schools near the university. It was grant-funded from 1991-1994 and then sponsored until 2001. Schools, especially those outside of Racine and Kenosha in the counties, responded enthusiastically to the offer of a visit from the GWWM.
