The Milwaukee Metropolitan Study Commission was an agency of Wisconsin State
Government created in 1957 to study problems of local government that affected
people living in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The Commission was charged with
making recommendations to the Legislature designed to improve local government and
remove some these problems of urban life in the Milwaukee area.
