The Kenosha Homemakers' Club School of Vocational and Adult Education began in 1939
with a total of 27 members, not including Elected President Mrs. E. Leschinsky,
Vice-President Mrs B. Skendziel, and Secretary-treasurer Mrs. A. Lowell. The club
consisted of a group of women who were interested in homemaking and adult education.
Annual conferences were held with guest speakers presenting various topics. Programs
for the club members included "how-tos" on flower arrangements, label awareness,
nutrition, gardening, social hygiene, recipe exchange, dress making, and Christmas
gift exchange. The club often held "hobby shows" for the women in the group to share
their skills with other club members. Annual State Conferences were also hosted by
the Homemakers' Club where they would invite lecturers to speak as well as anyone
who is interested in homemaking and adult education to attend.
The scrapbooks were primarily assembled by Rosa Morris, and took many of the photographs included.
