Carolyn Ruck, LCSW, is a psychotherapist serving the Milwaukee area who focuses on LGBT
issues. Active in the Milwaukee lesbian community since the early 1980s, Carolyn served on
the core committee of Wisconsin Outdoor Women. In 1985, Carolyn began working as a volunteer
support group leader for The Counseling Center. In 1991, she obtained her Master of Social
Work (MSW) degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). In addition to her career as
a social worker, Carolyn studied photography at Alverno College, Milwaukee Area Technical
College (MATC), and the Milwaukee Center for Photography, and has displayed her work at the
Gay Pride Art Exhibit (1992).
