Scope and Content Note: A film about the drug and alcohol culture in the United States and its influence on African American youths in Milwaukee. In interviews, community members -- adults and youths -- discuss the ease at which minors can buy alcohol and tobacco products, potential regulations and penalties for local businesses who sell those products to minors, and the impacts of marketing of alcohol and cigarettes to children. Scope and Content Note: Work is broken up into four pieces. 1. "This is Jonathan!": A young boy, Jonathan, sings about a train and its potential harm to anyone near it. 2. Antwon's Housefire: Antwon describes the fire that destroyed his family home; piece is an edited version combining "Antwon's Life" and "Housefire", also featured in the collection. 3. "This is Johnathan, part 2": Johnathan, referring to Antwon's experiences, talks about violence in the city. 3. "Bad Cop Story": A series of young Black and Latino men reflect on their experiences with corrupt police officers. Credits: "Life" written by Antwon Coit, Music by John Coltrane and Duke Ellington, "Life Stories" edited by Portia Cobb, Aaron Donabach, and Dane Didier.
