Most of the physical and electronic records are progress reports on property
improvement and community organizing programs dating from 2004 to 2013. The
collection also contains grants from the Community Development Grants Administration
and the Community Block Grant Administration. The grants covered most of the costs
for home and neighborhood rehabiliation projects in the Lisbon Avenue area. Records
of partnerships with Homesource, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM),
Washington Park Partners, and the West North Avenue Advancement Association (WNAAA)
are also included. Additional records include LANDFARE, an annual community festival
from 1997 to 2012, which offered activities for children and education and health
resource information for residents and visitors, as well as block club and community
engagement on Twenty-eighth Street, Thirty-seventh Street, and West Spaulding Place.
Also included are materials on the Walls Project, a community memorial initiated by
LAND which honors crime victions, and individuals and organizations that have served
the community, as well as photographs of properties on Galena Street, Lisbon Avenue,
and Vliet Street.
