The Community Media Project, under the direction of UWM Film and Video professor Portia
Cobb, offered media production workshops for youths within Milwaukee's core neighborhoods.
Students from the Department of film assisted with weekend and after-school workshops where
the UWM Film and Video department produced community centric documentary videos that were
screened at UWM, The Wisconsin Black Historical Society and Youth Media festivals and
conferences across the nation. The CMP remained active through 2000.
