These records cover Krajniak’s four years on the common council, 1988-1992. A small
number of documents in the collection predate his taking the office. The collection
contains correspondence, reports, and planning documents. Subjects of note covered
in these materials include planning for the construction of the Lake Parkway (known
then as the Lake Arterial) road connecting to the south end of the Hoan Memorial
Bridge, the renaming of the 16th Street Viaduct as the James E. Groppi Unity Bridge,
and the creation of the recycling program in the city.
