Incorporated in May 1970, the Cream City Neighborhood Health Center was established
to provide health care services to those in the inner-city areas of Milwaukee. The
CCNHC was a comprehensive, prepaid, ambulatory, group practice health care delivery
system designed to service residents who had long been programmed out of the
traditional health care system. The CCNHC delivery system sought to alleviate the
problems of spiralling costs, medical manpower shortage, crisis-oriented treatment,
and unequal accessibility. The organization was later dissolved.
