Series: 3. UWM Services Files, 1968-1976 : This series documents Stearns' service on the Environmental Studies Committee, which
was established in the late 1960's to develop the environmental studies program. Stearns
helped found the committee and led a task force to examine course outlines in more
depth. Records consist of mainly correspondence, class outlines, and short reports. This
series also documents Stearns work preparing Impact Assessment Reports for the
Department of Planning and Construction. These reports study the potential environmental
impact of proposed building and construction projects. Stearns was involved with
projects relating to the Blue Hole, a proposed parking site; the Physical Education
Building; the Cultural and Technological Studies Program; and the Life Science
Building.
