COMMEM1O1RTI VE" BIOGRAPHIICAL RECORD.
NNA 1(IONSFELI), of Oshikosh,
       \Vinnebago county, of which city
       she has been a resident some
       fifteen years, is a native of Sax-
ony, Germany, born April 23, 1863.
   She is a daughter of Jlames and Mary
Horsfeld, and the elder of two children
born to them, the younger being Mary,
wife of Thomas Moore, also a resident of
Oshkosh. The father died when Miss
Ilorsfeld was a young girl, and the mother
was afterward married to Ferdinand Hopp,
who was also of German nativity, by
which union were born three children, two
of whom are yet living: Ferdinand and
Max.
   In 1871 the familyi v caine to the United
States and to \Niscoiisin, in which State
they resided some six years, and then rc-
i loVx(1 to \VWosaiS., whence, in 1879, after
about a yearIs sojourn there, they came
to Oshkosh, w here Mr. Hlopp followed
the trade of )paper-Iiangir and decorator,
also coinucting a grocery, up to his death,
which occurred January 19, 1893. Since
his decease Miss Horsfeld ha: carried on
the lmsiness with cmini en t ability, and by
her amiable disposition has made hosts of
friends in Oshkosli, where she enjoys the
distinction of being one of the most re-
spected citizens of the place.
