Its great extent indicates that whatever agency caused the advance was very wide spread, if not continental in its influence. The moraine, there- fore, may be worthy of study in its bearings upon the interesting question of glacial and interglacial periods. It will also furnish definite data bearing upon the somewhat mooted question of the origin of the Great Lakes, as well as other questions involving both perglacial and postglacial topography.
