Those accused of crime, and against whom a prima facie case is made out before a judge, have in such a board the benefit of a standing jury. The abolition of term sentences is a step in the right direction; but, once taken, it reduces the jury system to the position of the fifth wheel to the social coach. Jan'y 21, 1878. C. 0.
