A barn raising was a community event. Friends and neighbors would come for miles around and raise a barn in a few days. The women came along to help in the kitchen. There was usually tables so full of food they would sag in the middle. A barn raising at the August Drexler Sr. Farm in 1917. Courtesy of the Drexler Family.
