The Town of Frankfort is on the western side of Marathon County, six miles east of the county line and 12 miles north and 12 miles south of the county line, with no towns or villages within. From the center of our township, we are 9 miles east of Colby, 9 miles west of Edgar, 12 miles south of Athens and 9 miles north of Stratford. Coming into our township, we have five telephone lines, five mail routes, four school districts and we can call four fire departments. We are a rural township. As of the 1990 census, we have a population of 743.
