It was a very interesting time.
While I write 1/2 past 5 o clock quite a number of returned
Californians are coming in to the house where I stop
I suppose a Steamer has just arrived.
___ Ben Thomas of Dodgeville got here the day before me
I suppose we shall return together.
If all be well I wll try to reach home on Friday week
Should I not arrive before please send for me that
evening, as I think I can get home at that time unless
I should fail to connect at some point and should have
to lye over.
If you get this in time to mail a letter nest wednesday
get Edward to send the exact width of the passage and
the exact size of hte front windows.
