         Tflss program first began in the spring of 1940 and has been continued
the past year. A lmost o0o-half the Counties In the State have now adopted
a
quality program. Trempealeau County was the second to do so.
          An outcome of the quality need resulted in several creameries employ-
ing fieldmen cooperatively to aid their patrons in producing a quality product.
Pigeon and Preston creameries jointly employed Julius Erickson while Whitehall,
York, Elk Creek, Osseo and Centerville employed Walter Everson. The Arcadia
Creamery worked under a simdlar arrangement with the Vaemandee and Cochrane
creameries of Buffalo County.
          These fieldmen do not act as Uinspectorsu but in a manner which
Is
educational to patrons. It is their job to service patrons in any way pqpslble
to aid them In producing a quality product.
         The agent believes the quality program hap benefited the county
a
great deal. Dairying is one major industry and anything done to insure it
is
for the better.
