from destruction, is that operations in the factory were not halted and the employees were
able to work.
Since Wednesday the company has had a force of workmen employed going over
the wood stock which smouldered and started up into fitful flames time and again.
The warehouse will, in all probability, be rebuilt, on account of its convenience,
but being within the fire limits and more than 50% having been destroyed, it will be
rebuilt with brick.
The Wisconsin Chair Company Warehouse Fire, April 14, 1914.
The Port Washington Fire Department sprays water on the warehouse
as onlookers stand on large piles of wood used for production at the
Chair Company. The fire was a $40,000 loss.
