OUTAGAMIR COUNTY PIONgER RECORD. 'Tis a joy to live in this climate, Partaking its luxuries rare, And feasting on its fruits so delicious And breathe its salubrious air. But there is a law of progression And it should be gladly obeyed, For when we leave Earth we shall euter A School of a different grade. God never intended his children Should always remain upon earth, Attached to contemptible bodies He therefore gives each a new birth. E; STOPPENBACH Born February 20, 1865; came to Appleton, June, 1872: married July, 1890, to Laura Warner Ryan. Children; Margaret H., Oct. 23, 1891; Theodore L., May 15, 1897. LOUIS SCHINTZ Born in Zurich, Switzerland, May 8, 1839; came to Apple- ton, Outagamie Co., Jan. 1, 1861; married to Catherine Ostertag, June 8, 1863. She was born in Westenhausen, Wurtenberg, Germany, June 21, 1842. Children: George S., born July 4, 1864, died Feb. 24; Henry V., Alma, Ed- gar W., Hugo J., Louis F., all born at Appleton. Enlisted as a volunteer April 21, 1861 and was mustered in June 11, 1861 in Co. E, Second Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry; was discharged Feb. 10, 1863, having received a commission as second lieutenant. Present occupation is as abstractor of titles; residence, No. 689 Lawrence street, Appleton. 95
