LONLAY-L'ABBAYE (5)
In the Province of Normandie.
The city now has about 2,000
inhabitants, was constructed in
the llth century by the Counts of
Belleme, around the Abbey of Notre-
Dame-des-Deserts. The church still
remains today as the parish church,
Renaissance in style with a Roman
portal. The abbey was founded by
the Benedictines. The city is
located in what is called "Le
Bocage Normand" north of Domfront.
