If a non-subscriber uses your phone for a toll call you will be billed for it. f NON-SUBSCRIBERS Local calls by non-subscribers out of the Village, 10 cents on our lines, which in all cases will be charged to the telephone used. If a subscriber wishes to temporarily discontinue the telephone service and retain his number during absence on vacation he must notify the manager and no rental will be charged during such per- iod. This applies to absence of one month or mor. TIME LIMIT FOR USE OF PARTY LINES Calls from or to party line telephones shall be limited to five minutes duration. This will permit an equitable use of the service by all parties on the line. REPORTING TROUBLE AND SERVICE COMPLAINTS If your telephone does not work well or the service is unsatis- factory notify the Manager, No. 4, Baldwin, and state your trouble; it will be taken care of immediately. MOVING TELEPHONES AND CHANGING LOCATION Five days' notice for .inside change of location of telephone should be given. There will be a charge of $1.50 for such change. Notify the Manager if you move, also give name of party tak- ing your place. You will be responsible for the telephone rent if you do not do this. COMPANY LIABILITY ON CALLS AND DIRECTORY ISSUANCE AND LISTINGS The company does not assume any responsibility for errors in transmitting verbal or written messages through or by the em- ployes of the company, as they are forbidden to accept written or verbal communications for delivery. The company assumes no liability for damages due to errors or omissions in compiling this directory. SERVICE Exchange Service. Business service is furnished for use of subscribers and their employes only in their business and for such extra directory listed users as may be contracted for by the sub- scriber on the same premises. Residence Service. Residence service, is furnished for the use of subscribers and their families, employes and guests only at their residences and for such extra directory listed users as may be con- tracted for by the subscribers on the same premises. FIRE AND POLICE CALLS IN CASE OF FIRE CALL CENTRAL When they answer give them your name and the correct loca- tion of the fire. Wait at the telephone until you are sure that the operator has this information correct. Subscribers should not ask operators "Where is the fire?" as this causes the operator much delay in notifying members of the fire department and in handling regular calls. RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOCAL SERVICE 1. Please look up the number before calling; do not call by name. 2. Do not remove the receiver while the bell .s ringing. 3. Call numbers of subscribers added since issuance of this directory, or changes in call numbers of subscribers listed, can be obtained by calling "Information," one long ring.
