stores a tavern and sawmill and flouring mill, blacksmith shop __, a large
store and meeting house to be built this summer, besides many dwelling houses.
 Mr. Hastings is at work here carpentering, he has bought 80 acres of land
about 5 miles from here, but will not build on it yet, as he has not enough
to get team __ to go to farming this summer, nearly all the governmnet land
about here that is good is being take up, people are after it think as bees.
 We are now boarding out, as our goods have not yet come, intend to keep
house soon as we can.  Smeads health is better than when we lweft Mass, it
is much better for him to work out doors.
 I like well, and am contented, the railroad is expected to run here before
long, it does not seem much here as it does east eveything is so different,
but it will not cost half as much to live here as it does there, wheat 1
dollar
