Vicks Burg Miss. July 19, 1864 loved ones at home. I am still A live yet, and have hopes of getting well. we have left Morganza. started up the river I comencedCowing fre\W ea krouna NA-s Am &Qu ye .\ff the hospital in Vicksburg. I think that I will stay here till I either get well or worse. the Regt has gone up the river some where. I dont noe where. I dont feel like writing much for I am so weak. I dont noe how long it will be before we will get- 1aid off. it may not be in six months. I am out of money I have been sick so long and if you will send me A little it will do me A great deal of good. I hate to send home after money but I cant help it very well. you nead not worry A bout me that is all at present good By for this time. give my love to all tell all that is A going on how crops are if you get A long with your work well.
