In the early 30's a new baseball diamond was developed on the pasture of John Marzynski, Hwy S, North of the Cassel Church. Some younger players were added to the roster and baseball became the Sunday afternoon family entertainment. Some of the teams competing against the Cassel Giants were Athens, Halder, Edgar, Fenwood, Marathon and the Fromm Bros. Foxes. The Fromm's Team was the class of the league with shiny black uniforms with silver lettering and a silver fox monogram on each uniform. Their mascot was a trained silver fox on a leash which trav- eled with and was present at all the games.
