      Some of the improved productions in Herd Improvement Assoo-
iation herds mroino doubts due to other good dairy methods other
then sires alone. However, the use of a good sire is one of the
important factors that has contributed towards their high pro-
     Through the co-operation of the Waupaca County Livestock
Breeders Association, a plan was organized to aid herd owners
who are unable to finance the purchase of a good sire. The plan
in brief is as follows:
ZUr bulls costing    u tha  $50Q00 or =    he first $50.0Q 2f
bulls costing more.
     - Banks will purchase bull and pay cash to the seller.
     - Herd owner who secures bull will give a conditional sales
       contract with no down payment bearing 6% interest.
     - Upon the payment of interest at the end of the year the
       contract will be renewable for two more one-year periods
       under the same plan.
     -If interest is not paid when due, or the bull is not given
       at least ordinary care, the bank can repossess the bull.
       Repossessed bulls con then be sold. The herd owner who
       secured the bull will be paid the amount received from the
       sale less the balance on the principal plus interest due
       and handling costs.
For bulls costing More than $50.00.
     - The first $50.00 will be financed under the above plan.
     - The amount above $50.00 will be financed in any way agree-
       able to both the bank and the person who secures the bull.
     Several of the banks in the County have already accepted
this plan and the program is in operation with a few bulls already

     In order to better promote the interests of livestock breeders
the laupaca County Livestock Breeders Association was organized
during the past year.
     This organization has been incorporated under the laws of the
State of Wisconsin.
