Letters, 1864
[unpublished]
Four letters, written in February and October, 1864, by Private William Otter, Co. D, 1st Wisconsin Cavalry, to his sister. He describes the wounds suffered in battle, the lack of rations, rumors about the war cirulating through camp, and writes poetically about the coming of peace. Otter's unit was in Tennessee at the time the letters were written.
