of Wood Type, and customers have been compelled to double and treble the small fonts, thus acquiring too
many of the least used characters. These fonts are carefully assorted and (i not contain surplus characters.

HAMILTON'S
Uni Gothics
The last great improvement made in the production of
Hamilton's Wood Type was to eliminate absolutely the vary-
ing heights of tfe different characters, a fault which had ex-
isted since the introduction of wood type and which neces-
sitated the frerijent underlaying of letters in order to obtain
a clean and evei impression. Hamilton's Wood Type is now
guaranteed to Le uniform and true to type high standard, and
The Hamilton ianufacturing Company invites the return at
their expense of every character or font which is not found
as represented.
Following closely this great improvement in the height
comes this series of seven faces of Unit Gothics, which will
be found invaluable in the production of artistic posters. It
embodies an even and gradual reduction in widths. Taking
No. 718 as the Standard Unit, the caps and figures of this
face in any size will always be on uniform square bodies.
No. 717 is 250 awider and the No. 716 is 500/o wider than the
Standard Unit No. 718. The four condensed faces represent
reductions in width of 25o/o, 50o/o, 621/20/o and 750/o. Thus
if a line set in type of one face does not fit the space avail-
able another width will always be right. Other variations in
width from the Standard Unit can be supplied as desired at
regular prices.
