The first editor, Mr. Browne, called the weekly THE BLACK EARTH TIMES. Sold to a cooperative organization, a few years after its founding, the weekly was then leased to a Madison attorney, Mr. Kramer. This plan worked only a year and then the cooperative group hired an editor and his assistant. In 1914, the paper was sold to Carl Kennedy, and two years later, Kennedy sold to Z..ntz Brothers. The present editor, A. W. Pickering, purchased the entire establishment May 10, 1918 from Zintz Brothers. A new building for the plant was constructed in 1924. Bl, -11 ---0.
