Many valuable pamphlets which would be of great use to the house mother may be obtained free on application to the Department of Agriculture at Washington. Some of these are The Nutritive Value and Cost of Foods; Souring of Milk and Other Changes in Milk Products; Meats: Com- position and Cooking; Milk as Food; Fish as Food; Sugar as Food; Bread and Bread Making; Household Insects, in which much useful information is given as to their exter- mination. Besides these there are special treatises on Bee Keeping; Mushroom Growing; Poultry Raising; Butter Making; Asparagus Culture, and other subjects interesting to women who live in the country, to be had for the asking. -January Ladies' Home Journal.
