REPORT OF DELEGATE, GEORGE N. ARPIN, TO THE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF THE STATE HORTI- CULTURAL SOCIETY Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. Secker was the appointed delegate to the convention, he was unable to go, and I was appointed substitute. The convention was held in the assembly chamber of the state capitol, December 11th, 12th, 13th. The program was very complete and interesting. The exhibits were good. Not enough interest, to my notion, was taken in the exhibits by outsiders. About half a day was spent by the delegate in putting the cran- berry exhibit in order, labeling the plates, etc. Several samples were partially frosted en route, but they sorted out all right and the asso- ciation had an exhibit of twelve attractive plates of berries. There should have been more. The following is a list of growers and their exhibit: Mrs. Pauline Smith-Badger, Bennett Jumbo. Mrs. S. N. Whittlesey-Prolific, Bennett Jumbo. Arpin Cranberry Co.-Prolific. Bennett Jumbo, Metallic Bell, Bell and Bugle. Elmer Dano-Bell and Bugle. Mr. Gebhart-Mammoth. A. Searls and Son-Searls Jumbo. Mr. Tuttle-McFarlin. Mr. M. 0. Potter was elected member of the executive committee for the eighth district. 9
