Miss Adda L. James,
Richland. Center, Wis.
Dear Mias James;
Your letter was received this morning. I am very
glad to know that my old9 friends were pleased with the
stand I tool on the questions affecting the public. I have
endeavored to do that which I consider was the best for the
greatest number of people, regardles' of what other persons
might think. Monday,we pased an ordinance regulating
dance halls in this City. This wasthe hardet fight I have
ever hud, but I must say that I enjoyed it. I sincerely
hope the Poitical Equality League will continue to do business.
I know of no other way to win than by working hard on a
proposition. If the fight i4ýtept up ther.Ls no question
in my mind but what victory wiJl be ours in a few years.
Remember me to any of mg friends in Richland, you
chance to meet, I am
Respectfully yours,
