to us was ____ three weeks ago this day by the reception
of your ______ welcome, _________ welcome letter; + I ___
not tell you we were rejoiced to hear from you; of your
safe journey to your far off home, + your pleasant __
encouraging prospects _____ your ______________ least
among our joys, so selfish are we, was the ________ that you
some times bestow a thought upon those you have left
behind. I cannot be astonished that you did not
write sooner, _______ as you must have been; but I
should be surprised at the reason you ______ for not
doing so, were it not that so many bleak broad Prairie
_______ us + you can no longer look into our hearts
+ read there the feelings fo heach day + how could we
have _________ your _______ we would have _________
relief for our lonlyness + sorrow by writing where first the
intervening hills concealed you from us. While your
mail was welcomed by the sunny smile + glad voice
of nature, __________________ you with the
_________ tearful note of selfish sorrow ______________

were now when fully awake to the reality, that our
hearts _______________ we shall see no more for long
