Brillion, WI 54110
Dear Harold:
Hello! I received your name from John Ronk, of Chilton, as "the" local historian
in the Brillion area. John has assisted me in the research of my ancestor:
Benjamin Jackson
who was a Brillion resident from the 1850's until 1873, and who during the Civil
War, served in:
Company E, 21st Wisconsin Infantry Volunteers
I also know that you assisted John Ronk in his research efforts, and as a token of
appreciation from the Jackson Family, I am enclosing two 5" x 7" photographs of
Benjamin in uniform, as well as a 4" x 5" negative of the photo. It suffices to say
that your combined efforts made a big impact on the family! Since, I know that
photographs of enlisted men are rare .... and so I thought that both yourself and
the town of Brillion would appreciate the photo. It took some work to get it ....
over three years, and a visit to Arizona .... but finally here it is! Enjoy!
I have also enclosed a binder on the life of Benjamin .... which includes John
Ronk's research summary, U.S. Census records, land transaction records, U.S.
National Archives: military and pension records, and excerpts from Civil War
reference books.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
