The food situation in Germany remained
*acute during 1946. A satisfactory ration
could not be maintained in the US Zone
because of insufficient indigenous production
of food. The possibilities of obtaining any
large-scale food imports from other countries

proposed the 1946-47 agricultural plan
which was subsequently approved by OM-
GUS. The basic goal of the plan is to obtain
maximum agricultural output for the con-
