Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad locomotive no. 939, built by the Brooks Locomotive Works on 1890, and previoulsy numbered 39 on the Milwaukee and Northern Railway. She was scrapped in 1927, after being renumbered 535 in 1912. Note the long pilot with pilot bar to couple to cars, and the steam heating pipe on the upper back to heat the cars. Engineer Frank Stock is in the cab window and fireman Louis Peterson is in the gangway. This engine and crew were in a wreck six miles east of Iron Mountain, Michigan, in October 1890.
