Scope and Content Note: General administrative records, 1998-2000, including division-level subject files, chronological correspondence, and a few additional subject files of the division administrator, J. Jean Rogers; and records of the Bureau of Welfare Initiatives (BWI, later the Bureau of Workforce information). The BWI files, which may duplicate in part the division subject files series, were received disordered and unfoldered. In the Archives they were arranged to facilitate access to the policy memoranda, federal correspondence, and reports. There are no separate files for any other bureaus in the division. Among the chief topics are food stamps, Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) and Wisconsin Works.
