Scope and Content Note

The collector August Derleth had many of the comic books, newspaper comic sections, and single stripes/panels bound. The titles supplied by Derleth on these bound volumes have been included in the description as “Volume spine title.”

In cases where several different cartoonists and/or comics are housed together in a single volume not all of the cartoonists and/or comics may be included in the contents list. Many of these volumes however have lists of their full contents in the front inside cover of the volume which has been noted in the description.

When a range of dates is given, the set may not include a complete run of the publication.

The size of the bound volumes is noted when they are of an unusual size.

Arrangement of the Materials: The collection has been roughly arranged by size and format.
