Scope and Content Note

The records of the Wolf River Basin Regional Planning Commission and its successor, the Northeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, consists of general correspondence, files of staff members, and publications. The correspondence, arranged chronologically, dates from 1966 to 1972 and deals with various aspects of regional planning including such topics as grant applications, zoning, sewage management, flood control, water resources, soil conservation and land use.

The records of the chairman, Gordon A. Bubolz, date from 1962 to 1971 and consist chiefly of correspondence, speeches, and various committee minutes. Files of the assistant planner, dating from 1964 to 1968, deal with recreational planning and include inventories of recreational areas, correspondence, reports and minutes. The files of the chief land use planner, concerning zoning and dating from 1960 to 1971, consist of correspondence, zoning ordinances, and other related material. The bulk of the collection consists of publications produced by the commission, from the first annual report of 1963 to a 10-year progress report published in 1972.
